Are you finding stationary fixed ledges getting a bit too easy? Or you're wanting to improve your crimp stability?
This Hercules Crimp, inspired by Ben Galper ("Hercules"), was created to bring diversification to crimp training for all levels of climbers. Ben's tremendous v16 level crimp strength comes from his habit of constantly seeking out creative ways to tax his fingers and tendons, which helps prepare him for tackling ledges of all sorts and sizes.
The roller spins freely, forcing the user to really focus on the position of their fingers. Friction is removed from the equation to allow for better judgement of strength and stability.
Each roller size has been designed with their own respective plate, in order to ensure the roller sits flush. Due to the round nature of the roller sitting flush with the plate, a 1" roller will feel like a 1/2" ledge, a 1.25" will feel like a 3/4" ledge and the 1.5" roller will feel like a 1" ledge.
By default, the finish on the rollers are kept to raw steel to support consistency in competitions and also to allow for natural seasoning. However, as always, we're more than happy to accommodate any particular finishes to support your artistic and training desires.
