The Thumber Block, similarly to the Thumber Wrench, is a hybridization of 2 common implements. In this case, it's a merger between a Rolling Thumber and a pinch block.
The integration of the roller allows athletes to isolate either their thumb or their fingers, both configurations offering their own training benefits.
The roller is recessed into the block, limiting how far the thumb and fingers can reach down underneath the roller. This creates additional emphasis on the need to squeeze inward, and therefore contribute well towards pinch block training.
To increase the challenge, choose a larger roller and/or larger block. The photos show a 2" block with a 2" roller.
The roller is not interchangeable. As with other nemesis products, the finish on the rollers are kept to raw steel to support consistency in competitions and also to allow for natural seasoning.
