Looking to work your thumb stabilizers? This really tricky hub has a sphere that orbits around a bearing-fastened pivot point, forcing you to really focus on how your thumb applies force. Anything but the exact center (directly perpendicular to the finger plate) will instantly cause the sphere to pendulum away to either side.
The difficulty increases when using less number of fingers behind the plate, as it requires even more focus to maintain balanced pressure from each finger.
The sphere is 1.5" in diameter and is made of solid steel, giving more weight to the pendulum motion and making it easier to lose control. The finger plate is 3" in length and 1.25" in height. The edge of the sphere to the opposite side of the finger plate is also 3", making the size feel like a standard 3" hub.
By default, the finish on the sphere is kept to raw steel to support consistency in competitions and also to allow for natural seasoning.
