Similar to Patrick's Hub of Madness, this one is named after our local madman Patrick Landriault. His specialty is balance, stability and mental focus. He loves tricky implements that require more than just brute strength.
This key pinch has 2 symmetrical paddles that swivel independently and smoothly (through the use of bearings). It's challenging because you need to find the right amount of opposition between the thumb side and the index finger. If the pressure is not directly opposing, it's over. Sometimes squeezing your hardest doesn't necessarily work because it risks losing control. It's balance that's required here.
Paddles are approximately 1" x 1" x 1", and sits 1" apart. By default, the paddles are kept to raw steel to support consistency in competitions and also to allow for natural seasoning.
