There are so many stationary crimp ledges out there! Their disadvantage is that it's hard to tell which fingers are weakest and need most attention. Stronger fingers will compensate for weaker fingers.
This pivoting crimp adds instability by having a pivot point, allowing the ledge to swivel based on how much pressure is applied to either side of that point. This can serve to load certain fingers more than others by placing the desired fingers closer to the pivot point. Alternatively you can center all fingers to work the hand balance across all fingers. Or you can be selective and use only certain fingers, centered or off-centered. There are so many possibilities.
Different ledge sizes add variety. However, the 3/4" (19 mm) is a very popular size for most people's hands and training routines.
